DAVID WILDE

David is the Senior Director.  He is a Notary Public and also an admitted solicitor in England, Wales & Scotland.  He joined the firm in 1997 as an associate solicitor working under Charles Sainter and Peter Willetts, having completed a successful period of training and work at Bazley White & Co (now part of Bracher Rawlins LLP) in central London.

David deals with a wide variety of work, as is required and expected in a busy local practice; his work includes Commercial & Domestic Conveyancing, Matrimonial & Divorce work, Litigation (including boundary disputes), Contract and Consumer Matters, Wills, Probate and Estate Administration as well as a variety of private client work including Court of Protection and Powers of Attorney.  David is an accredited member of Resolution.

David has been responsible for practice development and endeavours to go that extra mile for clients, in terms of service and end results. In 2009 David was short listed to the final six in the Law Society Excellence Awards, Solicitor of the Year category, an achievement which both he and the firm are very proud.

Outside work David enjoys an active life and is currently in training for the Cornwall to Paris cycle ride in July 2010, to raise funds for charity.

David Wilde was successfully shortlisted for the Law Society Excellence Awards 2009 in the Solicitor of the Year Private Practice Category. This was a major achievement with only 6 shortlisted finalists selected from across England & Wales. The final was on 22nd October 2009 in London.

UPDATE - David came joint third in the awards on 22nd October, an achievement which both he and the firm are very proud.  We would like to thank all our clients for their continued support throughout the year.

David has taken a successful and highly respected local firm to even greater heights during the economic downturn. His diligence, integrity, professionalism and outstanding client care are noted in many client testimonials. HUGH CORNFORD

Hugh is a Director having joined the firm in 2007.

He was educated in Berkshire and then Exeter University where he read history.  He attended the Inns of Court School of Law where he passed his bar exams in 1994. 

He practised as a Barrister for 13 years in London and then the South West before accepting an invitation to join Chilcotts.

Outside of law, Hugh has previously worked in agriculture, the City and was commissioned in the TA.

In 1999 he qualified as an accredited mediator and in 2003 was appointed as a Deputy District Judge. He sits primarily on the South Eastern circuit.


PETER BOSWORTH

Peter is a dedicated residential conveyancer with more than 30 years conveyancing experience. He will happily deal with all types of residential sales, purchases and remortgages of private houses and flats. He particularly specialises in shared ownership (part rent, part buy) and has over 20 years experience in this field.

Peter has lived in Tavistock for almost 30 years and has worked in the town during the 1980’s and early 1990’s; he therefore possesses a good local knowledge of the area.
