David Wilde is a Notary Public, a qualification that he achieved as a result of being qualified to practice law in Scotland. A Notary Public is able to authenticate copies of original documents, to be recognised in overseas jurisdictions. Sometimes an overseas government or official body will require documents to be ‘legalised’ or ‘apostiled’ and this can be dealt with at the same time the document is notarised, although it will require the documents to be sent to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Notary appointments can be made at short notice and you will be required to bring proof of your identity to the appointment. Documents prepared in a foreign language will need to be translated and must be accompanied by a translators certificate to confirm the accuracy of the translation itself. We cannot notarise a foreign document without this, although we are able to offer a translation service at additional cost.
