Relationship Breakdown

A relationship can break down between couples for a number of reasons. Chilcotts will provide you with clear, concise advice at that all important and difficult time when you need it.

Advice can be provided on matters relating to a divorce between married couples, a separation between unmarried couples and dissolution of a civil partnership between same sex couples. We will deal with a range of issues from finances, including the house and the often overlooked pension assets, to discussing contact issues concerning the children. We can advise on residence, contact and parental responsibility orders, either as part of ongoing divorce proceedings or independently.

Injunctions

In certain circumstances, it may be necessary to seek the protection of the court to prevent incidents of violence, or threatened violence from continuing or from being carried out in the first place. The method of doing this is through the use of an injunction. We can obtain an injunction on your behalf either on a private or legal aid basis, depending on your particular circumstances. We will see you on an urgent basis and advise you on the strength of your case.  We will then take the appropriate steps for the particular situation to safeguard your best interests.
